Halloween Hideaway - CCARS11 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cachin8r: I came by today to perform maintenance and decided to remove this cache. There is a lot more heavy traffic here due to the gravel pit/ring road construction rendering the parking less effective, the container is old, and I'm not able to maintain this anymore. So, I decided to open up the space for any future cachers. It had a good run, thanks for all the finds.

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed for the CCARS11 event, held April 30-May 1, 2011. This cache was released to the public on either April 25th* or April 28th, 2011. (*Earlier release date for puzzle caches) The cache should not be located prior to 12-noon, Saturday 30th April, 2011. The caches for the CAR event are released early so that the geocaching community has an opportunity to plan their routes prior to the event start.

This cache is hidden under the 'holiday' theme for CCARS11.

Located just outside the city limits, this is a good find for the young ones and those wanting a quick find. If possible, keep the hallowe'en theme going!

The cache itself is black and kept safe by its 'guardian'. Watch out for barbed wire, though there is no reason to touch or cross it. Please hide in the approximate location you found it. The best parking area is the entrance to the Burnco gravel pit (with parking coordinates provided). This road can be busy, so watch for traffic and don't walk on the road. During the winter, there may be deep snow so boots would be a good idea.

Note: logbook replaced July 2014 and cache relocated January 2017. Congratulations to Gordoner and mrcanoehead224 for their joint FTF!
