Ents are one of the oldest races in Middle-earth. Quasi-immortal and slow to act, they resemble ambulatory trees in form. Naturally, they are usually found in forests, where they serve as the local protectors and guardians.
Right at the site of this cache you can see some dormant Ents, or perhaps Huorns, which are regressed and feral Ents with bad tempers. These may be under the control of Austin's equivalent of Old Man Willow. If so, let's hope that there's some kind of Tom Bombadil hanging about nearby.
