Geocache Description:

Downtown Alexandria, near two historic sites and museums.
Tupperware size box.

Located in downtown Alexandria near two interesting homes. One is River Oaks Square Arts Center- a turn of the century home that is now the location of art studios and galleries. The other home is the birthplace of Harlem Renaissance writer, Arna Bontemps. It was moved to this location from Winn St. and saved from demolition when I-49 was being built.

Cache originally contains log book, pencil, a poem by Arna Bontemps, and various items for trade: LED key light, silly putty, glow in the dark bugs, frogs, an aligator, a trackable (David Garrett), a caribiner, etc.

If the Arna Bontemps Museum is open, it is free: (visit link)
Also check out the story garden.

The River Oaks Arts Center has freqently changing exhibits open the public. Check out their calendar: (visit link)
