Geocache Description:

Marcia, 4/30/36 - 12/11/10

Moms… we all have them. Some we get to share years with, some we lose far too early. Mine was special in so many ways. Some teach us to cook or sew or many other things. Mine did just that and then some. I get my crafty side from her, and now I have more things than I know what to do with. From sewing, crochet, cross stitch, quilting and tole painting, she had a talent to create. I wanted to make the cache personal with things that she had made but I just cannot part with them yet.

She had a love of animals, and this place reminds me of her. I do believe this is one of the larger “squirrel diners” I have ever seen. This would be a great place to just sit and watch them play. They must use this area year round based on the “floor” that really needs sweeping.

We can’t bring them back but we can remember them and share them with others. I hope you enjoy this location as I believe my mom would have. If you are lucky enough to see any squirrels nearby, think about your mom and remember how lucky we are to have them, however long that is.

The cache is a medium sized water proof steel container commonly used for geocaches. It is located within the Black Hills National Forest, and is not on private property. There is parking nearby, and is just a short hike from there.

FTF Kudos to SDRugg!!
