Geocache Description:

The Diestelhorst Bridge! The Diestelhorst Bridge was built in 1914 and 1915. It's 639 feet long, 24.3 feet wide and has nine spans.

It is named for Gotlieb Diestelhorst, whose family owned the land where it is built. It is now a pedestrian only bridge. The cache is in the area where a resort had once been after the bridge was built. It contained a store, over night camping and a gas station. All that's left are chunks and pads of concrete. A group recently cleaned up the area of the overgrown brush making it a very nice place to enjoy the river. Bring a pen or pencil. Feb, 16th 2025: I was contacted about a new concept called Towns Of America with the goal of getting a cache in as many large towns as possible, highlighting a special place. I chose my cache at the Diestelhorst Bridge renaming it Towns Of America.
