Geocache Description:

A few years ago a tornado touched down in Basking Ridge. It traveled south along the west side of Stonehouse Rd. then it took a left turn and jumped over to Long Hill Twp. at Valley Rd. and the Passaic River Park. You can see where the tornado touched down again by all the snapped and downed trees. Don't confuse the cache with tornado debris. The cache is available in winter but may not be snow friendly.

The area is part of the Passaic River Park system. Depending on the season this area could be very wet, but also depending on the season it can be pleasant. The cache is placed here to entice you to visit the area and maybe visit nearby caches. There are sticker bushes in the area of the cache but they CAN be avoided. Find the correct way. The cache is long and round. It contains a log and a pencil. Do not leave anything in the cache except travel bugs, or geocoins. Don't trash the area looking for the cache. Make sure the cache plug is tight but don't over tighten it after signing the log. The cache is in plain sight and there is no need to move anything to get the cache, except the cache itself. If you are getting close to GZ and there are sticker bushes in front of you, you are not going the correct way. There is an obvious path to take. Please put the cache back exactly as found.
