Are you up for a nice hike in the woods? This one will take you well under an hour to complete; that is, if you don't get carried away while sitting next to the lake and enjoying the view!
This cache is hidden on the public nature trail that is located in the Highland Marina Recreation Area on Lake Westpoint. There's lots to do here. Besides the lake access, and all that it offers, there is a restaurant, cabins, camping, boat and jet ski rentals, beach volleyball, and a playground. We had no idea all this was available so close to home. It really is a resort. You can park near the restaurant, or in the main parking lot near the marina, and follow the signs to the nature trail trailhead. From there you will follow your gpsr and your geosenses to GZ and the medium size lock n' lock covered with camo tape. There are a few items for the kids, and even a geocoin for the FTF. Just a few feet down the trail from the cache is a nice bench for sitting and enjoying the view. The view is to the west, which would make this a great cache to visit near sundown, and hikes are always nice in the cool of the evening. We hope you enjoy this place and its hidden treasure!!!
