This event is a "Flash Mob" gathering of geocachers, only 15
minutes long!
Part of the WWFM VIII - World Wide Flash Mob coordinated
events (see growing bookmark list)
Thousands of geocachers at over 100 events all around the world,
gathering at the same time.
To claim the event, you must be present and place your log sheet
into the marked container during this time.
The event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes.
Time: 1:00-1:15 PM
Location: Dallas Historic Town Square at the flagpole
(backup location will be at the fountain)
Afterparty at Sal's Pizza.
Event Timeline
Stay away from the flagpole until 1:00 PM. Stay in your car or
walk around, but you need to act like you don't know
anyone.
12:59 PM - Make your way to the flagpole still acting like
you don't know anyone.
1:00 PM - BlueEagle23 will open an ammo can at the flagpole,
signaling the start of the event. You may then converge on the
area, sign a log sheet and place it into the ammo can. Now you may
mingle with your fellow cachers!
1:10 PM - Immediately assemble for the group photo on the
steps of the flagpole. SHOW YOUR GPS!!!
1:14 PM - One log sheet will be drawn out of the ammo can
and that person will win a WWFM Flash Mob VIII event geocoin. CITO and
prepare to leave.
1:15 PM - LEAVE the area! Ammo can is closed. If you missed
the signing and the photo, you missed the event.
1:25 PM - Afterparty at Sal's Pizza. Please let BlueEagle23
know (or include in your "Will Attend" log) if you would like to
join us.
WWFM VIII Log Sheet
Log sheets will be available at the event. Simply write your
Geocaching username and how many people are included in your log,
then place the log sheet into the ammo can.
- Write your geocaching username
- Write the number of people your log accounts for
Example 1: team cyclepath is composed of two people, so Dawn
or John would fill out one log sheet and write 2.
Example 2: If the entire KODZ family showed up, he could
write 2 for him and his wife and fill out separate log sheets for
each of his kids because they have their own geocaching
usernames.
- Be sure to submit your "Attended" log within 2 weeks of the
event in order to receive your special
Geocaching.com WWFM VIII Souvenir.
- Visit the nearby waymarks and benchmarks while you're around the
Square!
