The cache is located on Cranes Mountain in Edmunds Township, Maine.
From Rt1 follow Bells Mountain road .85 mi, turn right.. Follow to end.
The trail starts to the left of the sign post and is fairly easy to follow but rocky & root covered in places.
Cache is about .24 mi from trail head. There are steep ledges in places so young folk should be supervised.
Trail is a loop that comes back to the parking area and is about 3/4 mile total for a nice hike.
You are seeking a camo'd Lock & Lock, medium size, containing all the high quality goodies imaginable. If the trail appears unclear, look on the trees to find greyish squares marking it.
Tide Mill Farm was established in 1765 and has remained in the same family for 9 generations.
This 1600 acre farm consists of woodland, pasture and organic gardens. Currently there is a 100+ head dairy heard, several acres of tilled land and 40-45 acres of grazing pasture land. They also raise pigs and process 6000 plus meat chickens each year. This farm has been an employment opportunity for hunderds of people over it's life. From Grist mill operations to saw mills to wood harvesting the farm has quite the history. Stop by and say hello if you're so inclined.. Maybe have the kids pet some young calfs.
