On the crest of Pic St Martin there are the remains of a celtic hill fort overlooking the valley of the Aude and the nearby village of Siran. It would appear that this location was also used as a lookout-post in the Gallo-Roman period, providing an early warning of potential invaders to the extensive gallo-roman camp in the valley below.

In order to find the cache you will need to explore the area around Pic St Martin to establish the exact coordinates.
Easy parking is available alongside the D56 at : N 43 20.246 E 02 40.032
Waypoint 1 : N 43 20.220 E 02 40.468 You will need the three digit number clearly displayed here.
Waypoint 2 : N 43 20.407 E 02 39.909 You will need the eight digits under the “Cave de Cantaussel”.
Waypoint 3 : N 43 20.250 E 02 39.945 There are several series of numbers on the agricultural relic. You will need to turn up the three digits that are preceded by “P0”.
You can now determine the coordinates of the cache :

a = difference between the first and third digits at waypoint 1.
b c = 2 x (the sum of all digits at waypoint 2).
d = last digit of the series commencing with “P0”.
e = sum of first and second digit at waypoint 1.
f = third digit of the first row at waypoint 2.
A narrow footpath leading to the cache commences 10 metres West of waypoint 3.
BE CAREFUL : There are cliffs on the north side of the summit.
