Horseshoe bend Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bunjil: I cannot see any information that suggests to me that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement - one or more of the following applies:

             - Cache Owner unable to maintain cache
             - No response from the cache owner.
             - No cache to find or log to sign.
             - It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.
             - Cache has been abandoned by cache owner

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to also prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the next 28 days, just contact a reviewer (by email and include GC number in cache name) and, assuming it still meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

If there are components or remnants of the cache and you haven't already done so, please return to the GZ and collect the cache (or remnants). We don't want to litter our environment with Geotrash.

Should you wish to replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a small sistema container and contains only a log, small pen and a penny swap. You will need to hoof it down a moderately steep embankment but should be able to do so on your feet. Seasoned cache hunters will likely spot it from metres away. It was one of those hides where you think, 'I'm going to have to put a cache there'.

Just 20 minutes from the city is a tranquil slice of rural Australia. Horseshoe Bend Farm is a popular destination for visitors of all ages with range of farm animals including pigs, dairy cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, peacocks, ducks and other bird life. It sits on a 2 km Wetland Circuit walking track which runs along the edge of the Maribyrnong River. During the week it is regularly occupied by young families, play groups, primary schools and older recreation groups. The farm features an original weatherboard 1930s cottage complete with cottage gardens and outbuildings. It has picnic tables, picnic shelters and toilets are provided. There’s also a children's playground on site. Horseshoe Bend Farm is not currently operating due to lease negotiations but hopes to reopen soon.
