The above coordinates are for the suggested parking and start point
which are situated outside the main entrance to St Michaels Park in
King St.
The park is open only during daylight hours. None of the stages or
the final cache are located in the park though. The park contains
restrooms, and the parking by the entrance is free, though can be
limited on nice sunny days and bank holidays.
The walk to collect the information, plus the walk to the final
cache, and back to the parking area again can be completed in under
2 hours. Allow longer if you wish to visit and look around the
church. There is also plenty of free parking available near the
final cache location, so if you want to drive there after working
out the coordinates that is an option.
The final cache location is at:
N 51° BH.(A+B)(G+H)(G+K)
W 001° FJ.(C+G)(E-H)(D-F)
To find it you need to work out the value of A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,J,K
which can be found at the following locations:
Holy Trinity Church
N 51° 42.663 W 001° 57.796
Year Don went to a better place = AB
Bowly Pump
N 51° 42.805 W 001° 57.956
Year donated = CDEF
Bells
N 51° 42.863 W 001° 57.943
How many bells = GH
Time Team
N 51° 42.752 W 001° 57.682
Last two digits of three digit telegraph pole number (the three
digit number starts with a '2') = JK

Information on some of the places you will visit during your
walk:
Holy Trinity Church
The church is relatively new in construction compared to some
others in the area. The foundations were laid in 1847, and the
consecration service was held some four years later. At the time of
the service though, the church still had no spire, or a complete
south side. The spire was added in 1851, and the south side was
finished in 1860.
Other notable dates regarding major features of the building are of
the first bell being fitted in 1887, and the clock in 1899. The
clock was re-furbished in 1977.

Bowly Pump
The pump and pump house were originally installed as a gift from
Thomas Brewin to the almshouses and neighbourhood to ensure "pure
and sweet water".
Time Team
In January 2000, Channel 4's Time Team were invited to Cirencester
to excavate the gardens of a number houses in Chester Street, of
which you will walk along, and also near The Firs where Chester
Street joins with Victoria Road.
The Time Team's investigation uncovered many finds. Full details of
the dig can be found
HERE.
Congrats to Carrog on the FTF!
