THIS IS A NIGHT CACHE NIGHT SEARCH ONLY!
Begin your adventure by parking at the provided coordinates and
crossing the road to the new red gate. I have placed a pair of
reflector eyes on the left side of the gate post so that you can
get an idea of what you are looking for on your hunt. There is a
total of 16 reflector pairs placed on the path. If you come across
a pair of vertical reflectors you are to go straight to get to the
next pair. If you come across horizontal reflector pairs you are to
turn to find the next pair. You should make sure to print this page
and take it with you as it would be nearly impossible to do this
cache without the directions.
From the gate head down the path looking for the first reflector
pair. From this pair continue down the path until you come across
the next pair which will be oriented horizontally, marking the path
on the left you must take. Continue down this path past the
abandoned shower house to the large tree with the next set of
reflectors. Looking back at the shower house look to the left for
the next set of reflectors. Continue straight past the old pump
heading straight towards the next set of reflectors. Continue
heading straight towards the old outhouses, which can still be used
in a pinch, looking for the reflectors next to the outhouse.
Continue past the outhouse following the two sets of reflectors
that will lead you to another wide path. Turn left onto the wide
path looking first for a pair of reflectors on a fallen tree, about
a foot or so off the ground. Continue down the path past the large
tree on your left with the reflectors on it towards the woods. When
you spot the horizontal reflector pair on the edge of the woods
follow the wide path along the lake's edge. When you come to the
next set of horizontal reflectors on a tree on the lake shore turn
left into the woods. Head straight past the two pairs of vertical
reflectors. Finally look for a large "X" made of reflectors, this
is where your search begins. When you have found the cache and
replaced the container just retrace your steps back to the
gate.
ONLY FINDS MADE AFTER DARK WILL COUNT FOR THIS CACHE, IT IS A
NIGHT CACHE AFTER ALL. IF THIS UPSETS YOU WELL I GUESS NIGHT CACHES
JUST ARE NOT FOR YOU.
Feel free to explore the abandoned camp but please do not vandalize
any of the remaining structures. This area is also a popular place
for night fishing during different times of the year so don't be
surprised if you run into some shore fishers. Also as a result this
cache would be a good candidate for cache in trash out as many of
the fishermen who visit this area leave behind garbage and
additional trash washes up each spring during flooding. I hope you
have enjoyed this cache please let me know if there are any issues.
Be warned, I'm told that ticks seem to be a problem here.
