Strömbron i centrala Stockholm är en 140 meter lång gatubro över Norrström mellan Norrmalm och Gamla stan, som förbinder Strömgatan med Slottskajen och Skeppsbron.
År 1928 byggdes en temporär pontonbro på platsen i samband med reparationsarbeten på Norrbro.
Den nuvarande Strömbron togs i bruk den 22 november 1946 varefter trafiken mellan Kungsträdgårdsgatan och Skeppsbron slapp omvägen via Norrbro. Denna omläggning inkluderade även spårvagnstrafiken.
Eftersom bron betraktades som en provisorisk lösning gjordes den mycket enkel och ingen möda lades ned på det estetiska. I generalplanen för Stockholm från 1962 och 1967 (1962 års cityplan och City 67), föreslogs här en tunnel under Norrström, som skulle förbinda Strandvägen med Skeppsbron, den så kallade Blasieholmsleden. Planen slopades senare i Cityplan 1977. Bron står därför fortfarande kvar, dess hållbarhet har varit över förväntan och den fyller ännu väl sin uppgift.

Strömbron in central Stockholm is a 140-meter bridge over Norrström between Norrmalm and Old Town, linking Strömgatan with Slottskajen (Castle Quay) and Skeppsbron (Ship's Bridge.)
In 1928 they built a temporary pontoon bridge at the site in connection with repair works at Norrbro (the North Bridge.)
The current Strömbron became operational November 22, 1946, after which traffic between Kungsträdgårdsgatan and Skeppsbron via the North Bridge. This shift also included tram services.
Since the bridge was regarded as an interim solution was the very simple and no effort is spent on the aesthetics. The master plan for Stockholm from 1962 to 1967 (the 1962 city plan and the City 67), it was suggested here a tunnel under Norrström, which would commit the promenade with Skeppsbron, the so-called Blasieholmsgatan trail. The plan was scrapped later in the City Plan 1977th. The bridge is therefore still present, its sustainability has been beyond expectations and it still fills its role well.
