This beautiful walk will take you to a trig point at the top of Hips Heugh, and you will be rewarded with magnificent 360degree views. The Cache is a large-ish Kliplock container and contains FTF wishing star as well as LOADS of swag. If children walk this far, they deserve treasure! Please trade well.
Hips Heugh is one of the outcrops of Whinsill. It is reached just off the Public Footpath from Howick to Craster.
Do not try to access the cache directly up the crags. It is fenced off, so please walk around.
The cache is concealed north of the trig point in the rocks at the top of this high, craggy outcrop. PLEASE look after your GeoKids and GeoHounds.
There is plenty of parking at Howick Gardens and also at Craster.
The walk took two adults 20 minutes to get to from Howick (it took a bit longer with the GeoKids!). The path is clearly marked. We haven't walked it from the Craster side yet.
The clue is as useless as a chocolate fireguard... just keep looking haha!
