Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 1st of the Kidz Kache learning series. This kid friendly series is intended to be fun for all and will introduce a variety of cache types and caching skills. Kid friendly means cool swag, easy terrain, fun hides, clear hints, and something jr. cachers will enjoy.

Lesson 1: Orienting and Projecting with a compass or reference

The coordinates listed are not at ground zero,
but find the spot and you'll be a hero.
You need to know where the morning sun rises,
'Cause 65 feet to the east is the cache and your prizes.

The listed coordinates are not at ground zero. Instead, they take you to a readily identifiable waypoint. Once there you will need to use a compass or GPSr and to estimate distance and direction.

Some terms for the jr. cachers to learn.

Waypoint: The location of a identifyable spot along your journey. Like a fork in a bike path.

Compass: A device that indicates the direction your are facing or need to go. No compass, no problem; the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, and moss and shadows are usually on north side of a trees.

Projection: Estimating the direction and distance to the next waypoint or landmark.

NOTE: You do not need to go far down the hill or near the channel, only a few feet into the undergrowth. Also, the cache may be visible to muggles if not carefully replaced and camo'd with add'l sticks or leaves.

Congrats on the FTF to IrishCubsFan
Congrats to Michael Hosp's jr cachers for FKTF (First Kids to Find)
