Geocache Description:

Hang on in there!

This is our first cache, so all comments/advice welcome!

Since we started geocaching we've been to many interesting spots with great stories and histories and have no complaints of that! Whilst we personally love a good old derelict church or two, we do feel that there is not enough caches to interest todays youth, so here's a cache with a bit more "street cred"!

Banksy is probably the world's best known graffiti artist*. He was born and raised in Bristol and according to sources started spray painting walls at the age of 14 and became a fully fledged artist* in about 1992. Due to his not being very fast or stealthy (obviously he's not a geocacher!) he was often caught mid-spray, so begun to work with ready made stencils in a bid to complete his missions before the police discovered him.

This particular piece appeared in 2005 and after a debate at the council whether or not to remove it, they set up an online poll for the locals to decide and a whopping 93% of people voted to keep it!

The image shows a jealous man looking out the window for his cheating wifes lover, who is dangling from the window sill just inches away.

It has since recieved some paint-ball style vandalism but is still an interesting sight.

Hundreds of "Banksys" have since appeared all over the world, and to this day his identity is still unknown.

*The classification of graffiti as art is still open to public debate.

So, after a little problem with the first location we thought about filling the hole in, but after a few visits learnt that the area was often used as a toilet and thought it may be nicer for all you cachers if we moved it somewhere else. The coordinates are unchanged as it is still in the same place geographically, but on a different level. However...

**PLEASE BE SUPER STEALTHY AS AREA IS VERY VERY PUBLIC**

To help you out with keeping stealthy we have made the hint very straightforward.
Thanks for visiting! :)
