The area around Eynsford, Shoreham and Otford is an area I enjoy walking. The area is made up from the hills of the North Downs and the Valley where the River Darent flows, mixed with woodland where in spring the Bluebells are a sea of colour, open spaces with views that take your breath and small villages that are worth the visit. This walk is not so much for the finding of caches, as they are all fairly easy to find, it is about the area, the views, the villages and the history that you can also explore. The whole walk is very family, child and geohound friendly, all I ask is that you take care on any road sections and near the river. The area can be very busy and maximum stealth may required, and please ensure that all caches are returned and hidden out of sight.
This walk will over time become one long circular walk, however, unless you want to spend one long day walking, there will be short cuts set out to return you local starting points and make shorter wanders. The caches set out will lead you through some lovely countryside, and you will notice that some larger gaps are left. This is deliberate as other caches exist in the area which you may want to also find, including two that I set up a little while back and are now incorporated into this walk.
Free car parking is available in Eynsford and also in Shoreham and Otford. There is also a car park at the Darent Valley Visitor Centre where there is a small charge.
You are looking for a micro container. Please This is the short cut back to Darent Visitor Centre and please respect the golfers as you pass.
There are no pens in any caches, so please make sure you bring one with you.
