The movie, Bambi, has long been a favorite of mine because it was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. This cache and the others in this series along the Fawn Lake Trail pay tribute to this classic Disney film. This cache is an ammo box hidden near a sandy beach on Fawn Lake.
Fawn Lake Trail is a popular hike in the Lake Pleasant region. It is a fairly flat trail that leads to the uninhabited shores of Fawn Lake. Near this cache, you will find a pleasant sandy beach and places to picnic along the shore. The round trip hike for this cache is about two and a half miles in length.
To reach Fawn Lake trailhead, take route 8 to Fish Mountain Road, just west of the hamlet of Lake Pleasant. Follow Fish Mountain Rd. to Fawn Lake Rd. You will find the trailhead near the end of Fawn Lake Rd. (See the coordinates below.)
