The Marks Glacial Habitat Restoration Area is a 192 acre parcel of WDNR land. It is managed for the production of waterfowl, wild pheasant, and other non-game songbirds.
In an era of ever increasing development of rural areas and disappearing farmland and wetland, these areas are critical to the feeding, nesting, and overall survival of birds and other wildlife.
A major portion of this area is a State Natural Area, primarily to the southeast. It protects the Niagara Escarpment and it's perimeter. Cache placements are NOT allowed in SNAs, but foot traffic is. This cache is placed on the edge of the GHRA, with a nice view to the western prairies of Fond du Lac County and the north end of the Horicon Marsh.
This is the twenty-second of the many "Room 2 Roam" cache placements. These are not park 'n' grabs and can be wet during the different seasons of the year.
