Geocache Description:

Difficult terrain but well worth the effort.

The Clarks River is a river that runs through almost all of Western Kentucky. It zig-zags its way through farm fields, under highways, through woods, and through cities. One of the larger city it goes through is Paducah. The river can be fierce during high water and calm during slow season. One of my caches along the river was washed out during the last flood.

The Clarks river has a history of kayaking, and innertubing during the warmer month. It is possible to access this cache by kayak, just portage less than 50 foot from the cache.

Did you know the Clarks River has a Mascot. Yup its true. It is the Kentucky Warbler. A cute little yellow bird.

This cache is high and dry and it was in place prior to the flood of 2011 and survived it. Getting to this cache is not going to be easy, hence the terrain difficulty. The cache is place along the river, but not within the riverbanks itself. I have visited this location twice, it is a difficult one to get to. This one can be difficult to get to when the water level is high, so use caution. You will get muddy if you are not 100% sure footed 100% of the time (I am muddy after going to it today).
