Geocache Description:

This cache is accessible year-round and family friendly. Terrain is quite level.

This cache is located in the Waiparous Valley area. Drive west from Cochrane on Highway 1A and head north on Highway 40 (Forestry trunk road). It is a very scenic and relaxing drive. The latter part of the drive is on gravel (well maintained) which may be a little dusty in summer but it is well worth the drive. After passing the North Ghost River campground, turn left on the Waiparous Valley Road and then (if the trail conditions are suitable) turn left at N51 24.246 and W115 03.025. This will take you to an open gravel area close to the river, near where we used to have many family picnics. Hence the name of the cache.

The cache is a small Air Tight Snap Container but it is located inside a camouflaged cage which should not be removed. The cage snaps open.
The cache contains a logbook, a pencil and some small items for trading. There is no room for large or bulky items.
