Geocache Description:

This power trail has been placed to honour our four-legged best friends both past and present. The Township was named, in 1822, after a pet dog of Lady Sarah Maitland (1792-1873), wife of Sir Peregrine Maitland, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada. Two other adjoining townships were also named for her pet dogs, Tiny and Flos (now Springwater Township).
This series is along the Tay Shore Trail. The paved trail has many opportunities for you to learn about the area's history. Enjoy the scenery.

This cache is part of a power trail surrounding Georgian Bay. These caches have been placed to let you experience the natural beauty of the area. You can walk, bike, roller-blade, snowshoe or ski the trail. No motorized vehichles allowed.
