The Aul Brig in Ellon Aberdeenshire.
Ellon's Aul Brig or Old Bridge a Grade A listed building constructed in 1793. The Cache is located within Ellon's Riverside Car park close to the Aul Brig. The park itself is the Start of the Ellon circular walk and from here you get a great view of the River Ythan which runs beneath the Aul Brig. The river contains a wealth of wildlife, some easier to spot than others. You may well see grey heron here and almost certainly a duck or two also otters are found in the Ythan but very Elusive. By the entrance to the car park you'll see the Moot Hill Monument which commemorates the spot from where justice was once dispensed in Ellon by the Earls of Buchan in the 13th and 14th centuries. This was also the Start of the Famous "Ythan Raft Race" which Sadly no longer takes place but is remembered fondly by many a resident including myself. Magnetic micro container with log only, please take care not to be seen whilst retrieving/replacing cache as is busy public place.
