Geocache Description:

Canberra doesn't seem to have retained a lot of the more mundane features of the urban landscape. This cache shows the remaining wooden bus shelters in the inner north. All are heritage listed.

Bus Shelter at WP1

WP1

At the start coordinates is the oldest bus shelter in the area dating from 1927-1928. It is a "Class A" shelter, one of 3 left in Canberra. I think it needs a bit of TLC!

Look for a red number tag on the nearest light pole. Pole Number = ABCDE

Calculate WP2 = S35 15.(3*B)(A+2)B E149 08.(A*B)CC

WP2

At WP2 is a "Class D" shelter of a simpler design with a sloping roof and narrow windows.

Find another red tag on the nearest power pole. Pole Number = EFGHI

Calculate WP3 = S35 15.HEA E149 08.(H-B)CG

WP3

At WP3 is a larger "Class C" bus shelter built in 1937. As it was then at the end of the run, it incorporated a toilet for the drivers.

Find another red tag on the nearest power pole. Pole Number = JKLMN

Calculate WP4 = S35 15.(K+I)FD E149 08.(M+N)(L+D)(N+I)

WP4

The second of only two "Class C" shelters in Canberra. I imagine this one was built later than the others, probably post WWII

Find another red tag on the nearest power pole. Pole Number = PQRST

Calculate GZ = S35 15.RPD E149 08.(R+S)(T+K)(Q+F)

Please replace the cache so it is snug in its hiding spot.
