***Quick cache-and-dash.
The first in the Tilba Circuit series (and our first ever cache), this is at Cowhill Wood. The route we take passes this great little wood, where the hound usually gets to have bit of a run about before we continue on our way. (Look out for a very cute Border Terrier).
Please note that the wood is on both sides of the road. The cache is on the opposite side of the road to the turbine, i.e. on the right hand side if coming from Cross of Jackston and left if coming from Fyvie/Oldmeldrum. There is only one entrance to this part of the wood, with a decent sized parking area - and is just past a house.
Cache is small click box - good for small swaps - hidden at the base of a tree trunk.
***My intention was for this to be a quick cache-and-dash, with the option of exploring the wood further if people wanted, and when I placed this cache in May, there was a decent path cut in the grass and the (rather small) dog could run around until her heart's content, and it would've taken 10 minutes maximum to walk to the cache and back to the car park. However, in the few weeks the cach has been there, the area around it has become something of a jungle. During the summer months it's possibly not a cache for wearing a skirt to (as I discovered to my cost last night), and if it's been raining it's going to make it really quite wet going. The cache is in a small copse of broadleaved trees, and I found it best to go in from the left - there seemed to be less jaggy nettles.
