Situated in the Helderberg Nature Reserve in Somerset West.
This cache was originally placed by Cameron (when he was aged 6), our God Son who has enjoyed many fun filled caching hours with us. (Cache ref: GC15YXW - this cache has been archived)
Unfortunately the original cache site burned down with the big fire in April 2011.
We have replaced that cache with this one, which is a little further down the hill from the original one, as there is no longer any vegetation higher up to hide the cache in.
There is a nominal entrance fee into the reserve.
There are several paths leading to the cache, choose the right one!
The cache contains various kids toy items.

Maskew Miller Herbarium (Information Centre )
The information centre and the Guinea Gift shop are located in the reserve. It is open seven days a week from 10h00 to 16h30.Telephone 021 851-4060
Indigenous nursery
The nursery sells a variety of plants, trees and shrubs. It is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10h00 to 16h00.
Duck Inn restaurant
The Duck Inn is a privately run concern and not run by the Friends of the Helderberg. It is open daily from 09h00 to 16h30 for breakfasts, teas and lunches.
Picnic area
The reserve is equipped with benches and refuse facilities. No braai fires or gas burning equipment is permitted.
Public toilets Are situated adjacent to the Information centre.
Facilities for the disabled A boardwalk provides access to the Duck Pond and extends into the gardens area. Ablution facilities are also available.
