Svandalsfossen er en foss i Svandalselva, sør for Saudasjøen i Sauda kommune i Rogaland. Fossen har flere trinn med fall på til sammen 180 meter; den øverste delen av fossen har 40 meter fritt fall.
Svandalsfossen ligger ovenfor riksvei 520. Ved normal vannføring er bare en liten del av selve fossen synlig fra veien, men ved stor vannføring kan fossen imidlertid tåkelegge riksveien og gjøre det risikabelt å passere med bil.
4. mai 2007 åpnet Statens vegvesen et attraksjonspunkt ved fossen, med parkeringsplasser ved riksveien, utsiktsplatå og trapper opp mot fossen og ned til stranda ved Saudafjorden. Til sammen er det 540 trappetrinn fra fjorden og opp til fossen Dette var det første attraksjonspunktet som ble bygd på den framtidige Nasjonal turistvei Ryfylke.
Haugaland Kraft har søkt om konsesjon til å bygge kraftverk i Svandalsfossen. Fylkesmannen i Rogaland har tilrådd at NVE skal avslå søknaden (kilde: wikipedia)
Svandalsfossen is a waterfall in Svandal River, south of Saudasjøen in Sauda municipality in Rogaland. The waterfall has several steps and dips a total of 180 meters, the top part of the waterfall is 40 meters free fall.
Svandalsfossen located across Highway 520 At normal flow only a small part of the waterfall visible from the road, but at high water levels it can blur the road and make it risky to cross by car.
Opened in May 2007 NPRA an attraction point of the falls, with parking at the road, viewpoint and stairs up to the waterfall and down to the beach at Saudafjord. Altogether there are 540 steps from the bay and up to the waterfall. This was the first attraction point, built in the future National Tourist Ryfylke.
Haugaland Power has applied for licenses to build power plants in Svandalsfossen. County Governor of Rogaland has recommended that NVE should reject the application (source: wikipedia)
