Geocache Description:

One of the Hastings historic and forgotten cemeteries

Wauchope Crossroads Cemetery occupies a small site surrounded by farmland. Entry to the cemetery is from Rosewood Road.

According to information posted at the cemetery, this ground was given for a cemetery by Alexander Bain in 1863. It is believed that the first burial took place one year prior to that, in 1862.
Inscriptions date from 1868. The cemetery is now closed for burials except where a prior reservation has been made.

There are no facilities provided and there are no portion or row markers.
For more information you can view the Full Inscription list here http://austcemindex.com/cemetery-inscriptions.php?id=446.

I grew up very close to here and as there is not a lot of flat ground, so we used to practice flag and bend and barrel racing in the clear flat area that this place offered.
This was also the location of my 6th form end of year party. You can be rest assured that not a lot of people left the fire side during that night...

Thanks to Team_Gnome and Phatt for helping me with this one. The GPS's were all over the place and we had to take an average over a couple of hours.

To find the cache...
The co-ordinates given will take you to a hidden part of the cemetery and here you will find a tombstone for a husband and wife who died twelve years apart. From this tombstone note the day (a) and the month (b) that the last person buried here died, and the age that this person was at the time (c).

To find the South co-ordinate of Q1 add a and b, and then subtract this from c. Add this number to the decimal component of S.
To find the East co-ordinate, find b squared and subtract this from the the decimal part of the East co-ordinate of Q1.
The resultant set will take you to GZ...

Be careful down the bottom end as there is a lot of moss on the ground can get quite slippery in wet weather.

Remember that this location is surrounded by private property, there is no need at any time to go outside of the cemetery boundary, cross the fence line or enter any private property.

Congratulations to Blackie_71 for the FTF in miserable conditions.
