Ljusföroreningar uppstår när riktningen på belysning inte är effektiv. Light pollution is created when the direction of light from artificial light sources is ineffective.
Ljusföroreningar gör att natthimlen lyses upp, vilket gör det svårt att se stjärnor och planeter. Många observatorier har fått flytta bort från städer för att kunna fortsätta sina observationer i det synliga spektrumet.
Vid startkoordinaterna går det efter mörkrets inbrott tydligt att se hur belysningen längs vägen inte har valts för ljusspridning, då en stor del av ljuset inte lyser nedåt mot marken.
På lyktstolpen vid platsen hittar du en skylt med bokstäverna "STOCKHOLMS STAD" och koden "R47". Det finns även tre siffror till som bildar talet XXX.

Light pollution makes the night sky lighter, and thereby makes it harder to see planets and stars. Many observatories has been forced to move far away from the cities to be able to continue to observe in the visible spectrum.
At the start coordinates you can after dark see how the street lights cast it's light in many directions other than at the ground.
On the light pole at the start coordinates you can find a sign with the letters "STOCKHOLMS STAD" and the code "R47". There are also three more digits that form a number: XXX.
