Die Gegend um Isora ist eine alte Kulturlandschaft, geprägt von der Landwirtschaft und kleinen Dörfern. Der Cache führt zu einem kleinen versteckten Juwel der Insel mit wunderschöner Aussicht und reicher Pflanzenwelt mit zahlreichen Endemiten. Endemiten sind Arten, die ein nur eng begrenztes Areal haben – z.B. nur auf El Hierro oder den kanarischen Inseln vorkommen. Ferner bietet der Ort einen Einblick in das Leben der Menschen auf El Hierro in den vergangenen Jahrhunderten, in dem das Wasser noch nicht aus der Leitung kam.
Festes Schuhwerk ist auf dem extrem steilen und steinigen Weg, der für geübte Wanderer unproblematisch ist, obligatorisch. Bei Nässe und extremer Hitze nicht empfehlenswert. Cave: am Ende des Weges befinden sich ungesicherte Wasserreservoirs und steile Abhänge, kleine Kinder nicht alleine vorlaufen lassen!!!
Der Cache befindet sich in einem Felsspalt unter Steinen. Evt. muss der Cache mit noch mehr Steinen geschützt werden, bitte legt, wenn nötig, noch ein paar Steine nach. Danke! Als ich ihn versteckte, goss es in Strömen, ich hoffe, der Inhalt ist trotzdem halbwegs trocken geblieben.
The surrounding of Isora is an old culture landscape, formed by agriculture and small villages. The Cache leads to a hidden jewel of the island wit a spectacular view and a rich flora with many endemic plants. Endemics are species with a small area – e.g. only on El Hierro or the Canary Islands. This location gives an impression of human live on El Hierro in the last centuries when water was not easy available like today.
Mountain boots are necessary for the steep and stony way. During and after rain as well as at hot days the way is not recommended. Take care for your children particularly at the end of the way – there are unprotected water basins and steep slopes!!!
The cache is hidden in a rock under some stones. Perhaps it is necessary to protect the cache with some more stones – please feel free to do so – thanks! I hide the cache during a heavy rain shower. I hope the cache is dry.
