Geocache Description:

NO tools needed. This is a hike-in cache. Recommend begin at Blakeney entrance to trail within green neighborhood(see parking waypoint)for easy parking and more trail enjoyment, although there are shorter ways of getting there, they are not the best way in my opinion if you are an enjoy the journey type of person. Take the trail to location. no bushwacking needed. For about a 4 mile round trip, start at the Copperfield Park parking area off Yager Lane.

Enjoy a peaceful stroll through the woods and along a limestone creek in Austin's first Green Neighborhood. Potential for picking up other caches along the trail. Look for a variety of trees and native plants along the way: black willow, live and shin oak, pecan, cedar, turks cap, inland sea oats, rain lilies, and more (and yes, if you look there is some poison ivy and thorny plants also along the trail and non-native invasive plants). Good bird watching possible.
Take care to not drop cache closure. No tools needed to open, except maybe strong fingernails. Cache is very close to trail, do not enter nearby private property to access. Street parking only at trailheads 2 and 3 (see waypoints). Recommend entering trail at Blakeney entrance (waypoint for parking) where there is a native flower garden and benches to sit and enjoy a view of a pond. Multiple trading items, including coins, when originally placed.
Cache container came from a Brazos Valley Geocacher and many of the coins from a Brazos Valley Geocachers get together. Visit (visit link) for more details of area and trail map.
when you open it, be prepared for insects as they really like the container for some reason. cache owner trying multiple things to keep them away (latest is osage orange fruit in outermost container), but get one thing to move out and another unwelcome insect guest moves in. Gecko moved out, darn it. just saying be prepared for a little "ew" factor, unless we are lucky and the hedge apple works (fingers being crossed, but with my luck a squirrel will break in to get at the hedge apple). you may want to put it on the ground to open it...to avoid dropping it...
