Denne serie er lavet i anledning af at det i 2011 er 100 år siden at privatbanen mellem Ringkøbing og Ørnhøj – senere videreført til Holstebro – blev indviet, og 50 år siden den atter blev nedlagt.
Turen går langs den nedlagte jernbane, så vidt det nu kan lade sig gøre i dag. Undervejs skal vi besøge alle stationer på ruten.
Alle stationer langs den gamle jernbane, på nær den i Ringkøbing, er bygget af arkitekten Ulrik Plesner. Han blev født i Vedersø i 1861 og døde i 1933 i Skagen. Han har tegnet mange kendte og smukke bygningsværker, især i København, i Skagen og på Ringkøbing-kanten, og får man blik for hans arkitektur, kender man den igen når man ser den. Eksempler på hans bygninger i Ringkøbing er Dommerkontoret og det tidligere plejehjem Aldershvile, begge på Kongevejen.
Tredje etape går fra Ørnhøj over Vind, Sørvad og Nr. Felding til endestationen i Holstebro. Denne del af jernbanen blev først indviet i 1922, altså 11 år efter strækningen mellem Ringkøbing og Ørnhøj. Det kan ses på byggestilen - de nyere stationsbygninger er større og mere moderne end de ældre, som vi stiftede bekendtskab med på de første to etaper.
For at finde skatten i Holstebro skal du samle oplysninger i skattene i Vind, Sørvad og Nr. Felding. Etapen er ca. 25 km lang og kan med fordel tilbagelægges på cykel. Det gælder især strækningen fra Ørnhøj til Vind og videre til Sørvad. Her følger ruten på lange stykker den gamle banes tracé, hvor der nu er fine stier uden bilkørsel. Underlaget er fint hele vejen.
Undervejs kan du finde andre gode skatte.

Station 9: Sørvad
Mellem Vind og Sørvad kan du cykle det sidste stykke ad en dejlig sti. Fra Vind og til det sted hvor stien begynder - hvor banen krydser Hovedvej 11 - må du bruge asfaltvejen. Waypoints D1 til D3 viser vej.
På et lille stykke bliver du nødt til at cykle på selve hovedvejen. PAS PÅ og hold dig godt ude i højre side.
En anden mulighed er at parkere bilen der hvor stien starter, ved D3, og cykle eller gå herfra til Sørvad.
Ved WP29 finder du to tocifrede tal, et højt og et lavt. Det høje tal er mindre end det lave!

This series has been created in 2011 on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the inauguration of the private railway between Ringkøbing and Ørnhøj - later continued to Holstebro. At the same time, it is the 50-year anniversary of the closing down of the railway.
The trip goes along the old railway, as far as this is today possible. Along the way, we will visit all the stations on the route.
All station buildings along the old railway, except the one in Ringkøbing, were built by the architect Ulrik Plesner. He was born in Vedersø in 1861 and died in 1933 in Skagen. He has created many famous and beautiful buildings, especially in Copenhagen, in Skagen and around Ringkøbing, and once you get an eye for his architecture, you will know it again when you see it. Examples of his buildings in Ringkøbing are Dommerkontoret (the judge’s office) and the former old people’s home Aldershvile, both in Kongevejen.
The third stage of the trip goes from Ørnhøj via Vind, Sørvad and Nørre Felding to the terminal station in Holstebro. This part of the railway was inaugurated in 1922, 11 years after the part between Ringkøbing and Ørnhøj. This is reflected in the style of the station buildings - the newer buildings are larger and more modern than the ones we have met in the first part of the trip.
To find the cache in Holstebro you must collect information from the caches in Vind, Sørvad and Nørre Felding. The stage is approx. 25 km long and suitable for a bike ride. This is particularly the case for the part from Ørnhøj to Vind and onwards to Sørvad - here, the route follows for long stretches the old railway line along nice paths free of car traffic.

Station 9: Sørvad
Between Vind and Sørvad you can cycle the last stretch along a nice path. From Vind and to the point where the path begins - where the track crosses Highway 11 - you can use the asphalt road. Waypoints D1 to D3 show the way.
On a small stretch you will need to cycle on the main road. BE CAREFUL and keep to the right.
Another option is to park your car where the path starts at D3, and cycle or walk from here to Sørvad.
At WP29 you will find two two-digit numbers, one high and one low. The upper number is smaller than the lower one!
