V2V Rakewing Shoveltail (photo op) Traditional Cache
TheWeatherWarrior: Very, very reluctantly archiving this one. It has become slightly damaged in addition to not being hung anymore. Because I'm not in this area, I cannot continue to maintain.
That said, the container has been recovered and will be reused/revamped and placed in an area nearer to me and attributed to this cache and the original owners/inventors.

Imagine our surprise encountering one of these while out placing caches. We have only seen two rare birds like this before, one in Ona, Fl and another in Darien, GA. We hope you get to see it today.
We are told that if you call a Rakewing Shoveltail in its own language, it might fly down to be patted. Just set your feet and yell in a high pitched tone “Cachie, Comie, Tome-e small pause Cachie, Comie, Tome-e followed by three squacks and a swishing rake sound. If it doesn’t work repeat. We sure hope you are as lucky to see her as we were.

Safety: Please make sure you park completely off the travel lanes, as much off the shoulder as you feel safe (maybe keep one side of the wheels of the car on pavement so not to get stuck). Stay out of the street, and kids should be monitored closely. There is not much traffic, but traffic can move fast. Not uncommon to see 80mph vehicles here, despite the 65mph speed limit).
