Geocache Description:

This traditional cache is related to the "Meet the Scarecrows" Event Cache, in June. It is on a public bridleway known as Coffin Lane, accessible for strollers and wheelchairs (weather dependant) but final location will need a short scramble. Parking is tricky, you may be best leaving your car near Middle Common and walking (5 mins max)

Released into the wild to coincide with the Meet the Scarecrows event cache, the container has been fashioned into a suitable form (based on a clip-lock tube container)

Rumour has it that Coffin Lane is so called because Kington Langley was not allowed a church for a long time (as a punishment for having the home of Sir Reginald Fitzurse here, leader of the Knights who murdered Thomas a Becket), and burials took place at nearby Kington St. Michael.

Kington Langley has two pubs offering food and refreshment, The Hit or Miss (Days Lane) and The Plough (on the A350).
