Geocache Description:

Congratulations to my son for completing his Eagle Scout Project!

I am locating this cache to celebrate the completion of my son’s Eagle Scout Service Project. The project resulted in twenty trees being planted in five locations in the Village of Coal Valley. My son worked with the village administrator and his staff, many volunteers, and an organization named TreesForever to complete the project. TreesForever is an organization whose mission is to help individuals and communities improve and sustain the places where we live, work and play. The park where this cache is located received seven trees that will provide shade, enjoyment and beauty to the community for decades to come. I am very proud of my son for the accomplishment of his project. This is one key step in earning his Eagle Rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

19th Avenue Park is a nice little park with a great playground area and shelter with restrooms. It’s a nice place for a family outing or gathering. I would encourage you to visit other Coal Valley locations where trees were planted: Post Office Park, Coal Valley Park, Village Hall, and the Village Maintenance Garage.
