Skewen Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Andalusite: This cache has been missing for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs or logged into geocaching.com for some time I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

A 20ml camo tube containing log, pencil and sharpner in Skewen Park, open 8am to 8pm - close to the M4 Jct 43.

*PLEASE ENSURE CONTAINER IS WEDGED FIRMLY BACK IN PLACE AS FOUND*

While unofficially the 'largest village in Europe', Skewen is currently a black hole on the Geocaching map.

Skewen's main claim to fame is that it's the birthplace of internationally successful singer Bonnie Tyler, but we'll save the obvious puns for another cache. Comedian Eddie Izzard also lived in the village for a short while in his boyhood.

Skewen Park is a large victorian park in the Coedffranc district of Skewen. The park has football pitches (including a fenced all weather pitch), bowling greens, crazy golf, tennis courts, play ground, formal gardens and up until recently a 9 hole 'pitch and putt' golf course. The park also boasts a purpose built BMX biking course. Which despite lack of maintenance, is still in good shape. There is also a Community Hall where various clubs are held.

Just along the path from GZ, fine views can be had to the south, from Baglan to Kilvey.

From the main entrance and carpark, access to GZ is via gently sloping tarmac pathway, and across 6 feet of mown grass.
