Geocache Description:

This trail follows the old Railway Line from Rosegrove Station
through to Shuttleworth Mead link road The line started at
Rosegrove and soon branched off towards Padiham.

I have put it suitable for wheelchairs as it is but the route is
downhill till you get to Padiham so there for its uphill on the way
back, I suggest that puff and grunt come along with any wheel chair
persons, or use the alternative parking as this is easy access to
the line. The first part of the route is along a road which feed a
few houses. Most of the trail is tarmac path, the last few(after
Momorial park at Padiham, are on rough stone track at this moment)
This section of the railway was opened around 1876 for passengers
and was closed to passengers around 1963. Now forms part of the
Padiham Greenway
Poets bridge untill they built the Greenway the small bridge that was here aload people (not vehicals)to pass under from Shakespear street (top) to Shakespear street (bottom),the railway split the street in two.
