ZZYP: This is my second cache that has disappeared from this location, evidently it is too exposed to avoid muggles, so archive this listing. When I placed it, there seemed to be a dearth of geocaches on OSR highway, and since then several others have been placed, so it may not be missed, but now the space is available.

Geocache Description:

Staggers Point is one of several Ghost Towns of Robertson County that no longer exist. A group of Irish immigrants made Staggers Point the earliest large community in Robertson's Colony when they arrived by ox-wagon train in 1833 and built cabins beside the historic El Camino Real [The King's Highway]. About two years later they aided in the fight for Texas Independence. They built a fort to protect from Indians, a race-track, taverns, churches and more. They remained a thriving community until 1868 when they were bypassed by the railroad. On the back side of the historical marker are names of some of the early pioneers. OSR follows the route of El Camino Real through this portion of Texas. OSR is the only Texas Stae road not identified by number, stands for for Old San Antonio Road or Old Spanish Road. Locals also give it the name County Line Road as it is Brazos County on the south side, Roberson County on the north. The Cache GZ is several feet away from the sign, do not cross the fence. BYOP [Bring your own Pencil]. Re-roll the log very tightly and insert it into the lid before screwing it on, so that it will remain watertight.
