plantation, but It is beautiful :)cache holds log, pen, and small
items. Pine Hill Plantation contruction began in 1841, and
completed in 1846 by Colonel Robert D. Caldwell. The home contains
over 43,000 bricks that were mined and formed on the property.
Colonel Caldwell had all of the woodwork (Green Poplar) imported
from England during contruction. Even all interior wall are brick.
The home is situated on the second-highest hill in the county, with
panoramic views for miles, and the home can be seen for miles. Pine
Hill is a 2 1 story with over 4000 sq.ft., 4 bedrooms, and 1 bath,
with partial basement, and 12ft. ceilings throughout. As you enter
through into the large foyer you will be met by original hardwood
flooring, and winding staircase. To the right is the master suite
that was originally the Man s Parlor, to the left is the living
room, which was the Ladies Parlor. Large open kitchen with
fireplace. Almost every room in the home is 20 x 20. I cannot find
much history about this plantation,People have talked about it
being haunted since I moved here in 1989. There are some remnents
of slave quarters down the road a little bit from the house. This
is a really neat area and there is even a cemetery on the property.
however I do not have the owners permission to go snooping around
the proerty so please no trespassing,I am giving the coords to the
house so that everyone can drive down the road to see the house and
the parts of the slave quarters that remain.
