Geocache Description:

You're looking for a medium-sized cammo'd plastic jar. This cache is found in a grassy, shade-filled park...where the Ranger Station is...and where the two mile loop trail begins/ends. You'll also find picnic tables, a water fountain....and lots of summertime-needed shade!

Ed Davis Park at Towsley Canyon is in the Santa Clarita Woodlands Park and is a popular area for hiking & biking. Parking is free in the lot just outside the gate & in the first lot inside the gate but a pass is required if you park further in....$7 to the Iron Ranger. The Ranger Station here hosts some nature walks...and many trails can be found. Care should be taken when hiking because of the varied wildlife found in these mountains and canyons. Oil field relics can be found as well as some bubbling crude oil seeping out of the ground. Water can be found in the riverbed most of the year....but summertime it's just a trickle...springtime is beautiful, green, and blooming...lots of frogs croaking and birds singing...and the streams are running throughout the canyons, creating pools and tumbling waterfalls.
Additional maps, trails and info can be found at www.LAMountains.com...and www.localhikes.com...and www.hikesantaclarita.com. Happy Caching!
