Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in "The Grove" on the south slope of Burnaby Mountain. There are several routes to reach this cache, one: go from the trail head located along the pipline trail and walk through the forest, or go from Gaglardi Way (which is a little difficult)

As I said, you can go from many angles. You can access Pine Ridge Co-op by entering where the sign says "Pine Ridge Heights," or you can go down Mountainside Place where a small corner store is and go all the way to the end of that and walk north at a branching trail to access the Co-op from there. Once at the Co-op, walk north into the forest at the northside of the co-op and follow your GPS arrow into the forest, from there you can find small trails that will lead you to a chain-link fence and the cache site. Those are the southern routes explained, the northern routes are simple, however parking is not. You may have to park at Ash Grove Crescent and walk up a pipeline trail that goes by one of my other caches (The Land of the Living Cacher), from there, I believe you can walk up to Gaglardi Way and walk along it until you reach the cache site. Once your GPS points south, look for a break in the chain-link fence. You can walk through this, once through you will be very close to the cache. All you need to do now is look for the cache. Burnaby Mountain in the 1800's was originally called Snake Hill, it was logged almost bare until the trees ran out. Now you can see Alder trees taking over the mountainside from there long dead cousins of the coniferous variety. The first trees to take over a logged forest are Alder trees, once they die off, the cone bearing trees begin to grow and therefore a fresh new forest is reclaimed.
