Your search for this cache will lead you down a winding trail near Peavine Falls to a stone structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during President Franklin D. Roosevelt's time in office in the 1930's. The structure has reportedly survived two major tornadoes. Many thanks to ReconMonkeys, a fellow Geocacher, who rebuilt the existing roof as an Eagle Scout project several years ago. He had it airlifted in by the Air National Guard using a helicopter.
You'll find yourself at the top of a cliff where you can see for miles- but there's no need to put yourself in danger while searching for this one. It's a small brown lockable container with a logbook, pen, and a few small items.
Caution- This area is quite beautiful, but the trail is narrow, often has pine straw on it, and is near a steep chasm. Keep an eye on the kids for this one.
There is more than one way to approach this one. Most sane people would take the easiest route along the Blue trail instead of walking beside the lower part of Peavine branch - but hey- we're Geocachers. If you're up for some serious exercise you could always take the low road.
FYI- There is a $3 per person entry fee for the park.
