Come and join us for a fun three day campout event at Round Lake State Park in Sagle, Id.
Last year my son and I wanted to camp at Round Lake and do the 19 geocaches there, but it was booked solid every time we tried. Our computer was down so we didn't see that Antiqueman had planned an event here around the time we had been trying!! Darn!! We missed it!! So we decided to plan our very first geo-event by doing another campout at Round Lake State Park this summer! If you like to geocache, eat, visit, and camp - this is the event for you! We're going to have lots of fun in the sun!! :-D
Itinerary:
*Friday night, August 26th: Potluck dinner at 6:00 pm, drawing for prizes around 7:00 pm
*Saturday, August 27th: Geocaching around the lake starting at 10:00 am, drawing for prizes around 7:00 pm
*Sunday, August 28th: Ol' Fashioned Treasure Hunt with prizes for all who find the final stage starting at 10:00 am ** No GPS devices needed - will be following clues rather than coordinates. Will be similar to a multi-cache with the final stage being a larger container filled with quality prizes for all who find it. Special prizes for the first to find and second to find! :-)
My son and I will be camping both Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th. It is completely up to each person whether they want to camp both nights with us or to go home after geocaching on Saturday. We will have a super fun ol' fashioned treasure hunt on Sunday morning and plan to spend the rest of the day swimming, fishing, and relaxing! :-)
I pre-booked 2 campsites for August 26th and 27th, so these spots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.(They both are taken!) Each campsite can hold 2 tents and 8 people. Each spot allows one car included in the camping fees, with each extra car costing $8 per night. I will be camped in campsite #3 - which will be the main event location. Beyond those two campsites, everyone will have to hurry and book their spots at (visit link) When I booked my campsites, the following sites were available that I would recommend to be close to the main event site (#3): #2, #4, #6(Handicap site), #34, #36, & #38. #'s 25 and 29 are also available and close-by, but they are serviced sites and cost slightly more. ($22 per night) **NOTE: As of 7-25-11, the only campsites from the ones listed here that are still available are #'s 6, 34, and 38!**
Misc. Info.:
**Event Headquarters will be Campsite #3 - please check in there to sign log when you arrive.
**Each campsite has room for either one RV or two tents
**Campground check in = 2:00 pm
**Campground check out = 1:00 pm
**Quiet Hours = 10:00 pm to 7:00 am
**Rv's and Trailers = no longer than 24'
**Any type of attendance - days only or camping, etc. - will count as far as logging an attendance log.
Please RSVP and include what you will be bringing for the pot luck - I'll add them into the cache description as we go!
