The Atlantic Ocean and the Barnegat Bay are well known and productive fishing destinations of many anglers. Some prefer to keep their favorite fishing locations a secret, but we're willing to give up the location of a place where fish can be found almost all of the time - the only problem is that fishing isn't allowed here!
This is a "multi" stage that will take you from coast to coast in Lavallette, and lead you to a little known "fishing hole" that the family will enjoy. In order to get there you must first get the coordinates from two other locations within about a mile of the actual cache - one near the Atlantic, and one near Barnegat Bay.
The coordinates listed are not the actual location, but those of of a major landmark of Lavallatte, visible from land or sea.
Once the true coordinates are obtained you will be able to visit the "fishing hole", and the cache can be found about 40-60 feet away to the east of that spot, near the base of a tall object.
The West coordinates can be found at: N 39 58.361, W 074 04.438 (on a small metal tag below the south bench, SW corner). This is a great place to watch the sunset.
The North coordinates can be found at: N 39 58.252, W 074 03.934 (follow the narrowest center deck plank towards the ocean to the piling, and look near the piling's base for the small metal tag. You may have to step into the sand between the deck and ramp to see the tag). This is a great place to watch the sunrise.
All of these areas can be very busy, so you may have to use stealth to obtain the coordinates and the cache.
The cache is a small lock & lock type container with a log, pen, some fishing tackle, and various other small items.
