A very scenic hike up Pincushion Mountain. There are some awesome views of both Okanagan Lake, as well as the canyon on the backside of the mountain. The hike is fairly steep, and due to the location of the cache it is not recommended for children.
To start your hike, turn at the giant golf ball onto Ponderosa Drive in Peachland. At the end of the road you'll find a small parking lot. You'll also see signs for RED #3 Trail...that is the trail that will take you almost to the cache. When you get closer to GZ you'll see a rocky outcropping that appears fairly steep...yup, just head on up...it is fairly steep, but there are rocks that almost form steps, and plenty of rocks to grab on if you need to balance yourself. I took coordinate readings at 3 different times of the day with 2 different GPS's...each one was a little different, but I went with what the Magellan GC GPS said over the iPhone(they weren't too far apart). Please be EXTREMELY CAREFUL at the top...there are some sheer drop-offs near the cache site...although you have an amazing 360 degree view from here...thus the cache name, Heavenly Heights. The cache is a small camoed lock & lock. When first placed it contained:
