The North Perth Trail follows former railway lines. The trail is approximately 22 kilometres long and runs from Gowanstown to Henfryn passing through Listowel and Atwood. It is part of the Perth County Trails system. Trail use includes hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. It is an excellent biking trail. In the winter use caution since it is also a snowmobile trail. The signs say no motorized vehicles but we saw several ATVs using the trail.
This cache is located on the section of trail running from Atwood to Henfryn. As we walked down the trail to place the cache we flushed a wild turkey from its nest only about 10 feet from the trail. Boy those things make a lots of noise when they take off. By the way does anyone remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon with this name.
There is a toonie for a prize for FTF.
Remember to bring a pencil.
