Geocache Description:

This cache was placed on memorial day 2011 in the Pioneer Memorial Cemetary in downtown Eugene.

Be sure to visit the next plot near this cache, where many veterans of the Spanish-American war are buried. Also take a look at the Grand Army of The Republic plot where civil war veterans are buried. We couldn't place the cache precisely on that lot as we wished due to proximity with other caches, but felt it fitting to place it near on memorial day. This is also a great place to visit if you want to see a piece of both Eugene and Oregon history. Most of the graves are well over 120 years old and represent many of the pioneer families who settled the area.
