TheCur8or: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

This cache brings you near to the Tawa railway station...

The Tawa railway station was opened on the 21st of September 1885,

Originally known as 'Tawa Flat', the station was built by the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company and was located about 600 meters south, about where the Redwood station is located today.

The railway line originally ran through Johnsonville to the south of Tawa, but due to the impracticalities of this (due to steep gradients) the railway line was diverted through Tawa in the form it takes today. The deviation was opened to goods trains in 1935 and to passenger trains in 1937.

In June of 1940 the line was electrified through Tawa and in 1957 the line was doubled tracked as far a Porirua.

The cache is a 200ml Sistema.

Please make sure that the cache is hidden as you found it as this is a high muggle area!
