Meet Ivy At The Lay-By Traditional Cache
redkitegar: Following a recent illness was able to visit cache site today and found that the hedgerow is now completely overgrown (due no doubt to financial cut-backs in local authority services) and the wall at the base of which the container was hidden is completely covered with brambles and the grass verge is more like a nettle plantation.

This is a 35mm film container (camouflaged with tape) placed amongst some ivy above a sloping grass verge in a small lay-by located a short distance from the entrance to the Glascoed Hall Caravan Park on the outskirts of Llanrug village. Nice easy drive by.
To get to the search area drive over the bridges at Pontrhythallt and follow the road up the hill – turning left at the top of the hill towards Glascoed Hall – pass the entrance and continue to the lay-by a short distance away on the right hand side of the single track road. The lay-by is big enough for 2/3 cars.
The road is generally quiet but is used by cyclists, pedestrians and motorists so look out for muggles when searching. There are more walkers in the summer months when the caravan park is busy.
There is also a nice view of Snowdon from this location on a clear day.
When the cache was placed the grass and plants on the verge was quite long but has been placed close to the wall so any grass cutting that may take place should not expose or move the cache so please be careful to replace it in the same position. While the grass is long try not to trample on it too much so as not to give the location away. I placed it by standing one foot on the sloping verge and the other on the level ground of the lay-by. Look out for nettles !!
The cache is covered by a small stone. A little ivy may need to be moved to one side as it re-grows after it seems to have been pulled away by previous searchers. .
PLEASE REPLACE IN THE POSITION YOU FIND IT.
There is a small pencil in with the logbook but please take a pen with you just in case.
